Parts of Reflex PMR were made by other people and shared under terms that let us use them. This page records what those parts are, who made them, and what the terms say. Where a license asks us to hand something on to you, this page is where we do it.
ISNCSCI dermatome diagram
The body map in the ASIA Exam trainer is not our drawing. It comes from the npm package @rhi-isncsci-ui/dermatome-diagram, version 0.0.1, published by the Rick Hansen Institute, now the Praxis Spinal Cord Institute, whose ISNCSCI algorithm the American Spinal Injury Association lists as an endorsed calculator. It is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. A complete copy of that license is served at /licenses/apache-2.0.txt. The package carries no NOTICE file.
Changes we made, stated as section 4(b) of the license requires. The SVG markup was extracted from the package’s bundled JavaScript and vendored into our source as a string. Three label defects were corrected: a label reading S 3 became S3, the lower figure’s two-line leg labels were flattened to one line, and its S4-5 label was re-anchored inside the drawing so it no longer clips at the edge. No geometry was altered. The artwork ships with no fills of its own and the trainer supplies every colour at runtime, so the map you see is painted in our palette rather than the original’s.
ISNCSCI classification workbook
Our classification engine is tested against the reference cases the standard’s own committee publishes: International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI): A workbook with important classification cases, International Standards Committee of the American Spinal Injury Association, lead contributor Christian Schuld, published June 6, 2024. Licensed CC BY 4.0. A copy of the workbook’s case data is held in our repository as a test fixture and is redistributed unmodified. We make no claim that the committee endorses this product.
The ASIA worksheet
The printed ISNCSCI worksheet is offered by the American Spinal Injury Association under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, which permits neither commercial use nor derivative works. Reflex PMR is a commercial product, so we do not reproduce it, and nothing on this site is a copy of it. The chart in the ASIA Exam trainer is our own layout, built from the published standard, and the engine implements the rules as printed on worksheet revision 04/26. Reflex PMR is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the American Spinal Injury Association.
Bundled software libraries
The site itself is built with open-source libraries, most under the MIT, ISC and BSD licenses, whose one shared condition is that their copyright and license notices travel with the code. The complete set for every production dependency, grouped by license text, is served at /licenses/dependencies.txt. It is generated from the dependency manifest, so it tracks what actually ships rather than what someone remembered to list.
Figures in chapters and the gallery
Illustrations drawn from Wikimedia Commons, open-access journals and similar sources carry their own terms, most often CC BY or CC BY-SA. Because those terms require the credit to appear with the image rather than on a page elsewhere, each figure shows its author, source and license alongside it, in chapters and in the figure gallery.
