24-year-old woman, severe TBI, left ankle stiff and posturing

A 24-year-old woman, 8 weeks after a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a high-speed motor vehicle collision, is experiencing significant difficulty with ambulation due to marked stiffness and abnormal posturing of her left ankle. This persistent plantarflexion and inversion is interfering with appropriate shoe wear and preventing effective heel strike during gait training in acute inpatient rehabilitation.
